Some visas require you to have sponsorship from a state or territory government, or an eligible relative. All states of Australia offer state sponsorship to selected overseas skilled workers and business people with skill-sets and business acumen in shortage for that state.
State sponsorship provides support for your application for some General Skilled Migration or Business Skills visas, and can assist you in meeting the requirements for your occupation or under the points test. It is not a visa, or a guarantee of visa.

In order to apply for a General Skilled Migration visa, you must nominate an occupation from the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) at the time you apply. The SOL lists all eligible occupations for General Skilled Migration, and the number of points awarded for each.
Regardless of which General Skilled Migration visa you apply for, you must provide evidence that your skills have been assessed as suitable for your nominated occupation by the relevant assessing authority for your nominated occupation before your visa can be granted.
There are a huge number of assessing bodies in Australia, each with its own assessment procedures, timeframes and fees. You may also need to obtain state-level licensing and registration to practice your occupation in the state or territory you settle in – in some states this is a requirement under state or federal Government legislation.
MyVisa Manager has experience in dealing with a large range of skill assessment bodies and occupations, and can provide you with comprehensive, professional advice and assistance in what can be a difficult and confusing process.
